Fundraising efforts benefit Middlesbrough baby hospice

We recently received a certificate of appreciation from Zoë’s Place after we raised £563 for them during Christmas 2022.

Zoe’s is the only specific baby hospice in the UK with three centres- Coventry, Liverpool and Middlesbrough. The Middlesbrough centre is a 6 bed hospice and cares for about 35 families with children from birth to 5, they receive respite care, cater for special occasions and emergency respite. The Hospice is designed to be similar to a nursery focusing on bringing joy to every day through play, touch, messy play and sensory stimulation with a light sensory room, singing and listening to music and enjoying the therapy spa bath.

This means that the Middlesbrough site alone needs to raise £1.5 million every year in order to be able to provide care 24 hours a day to children with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions, as well as supporting family members with counselling, advice, day to day support and bereavement support.

Finance officer Chloe remarked that “Without the kindness of people such as you, we would not be able to continue to provide this valued service entirely free of charge to the families accessing our facilities”

Thanks to all those who attended our Christmas fair and gave money towards supporting a good cause.

Zoe’s is appreciative of all donations. To find out more or make a donation, please visit their website: https://www.zoes-place.org.uk/middlesbrough/default.aspx
