Garden delights await for the National Garden Scheme 2024

Middleton Hall Retirement Village invites all to experience the splendour of its 45-acre estate as part of the National Garden Scheme on Saturday 17th August, 11am-4pm. Tickets cost £5.00 for an adult and free for a child and can be booked here or bought on the day.

Throughout the day visitors will have a rare opportunity to explore the extensive private grounds at our retirement village in Middleton St George near Darlington. There is plenty on offer for garden-lovers to see, with a mix of traditional formal gardens combined with themed areas such as Japanese planting, ceramic garden, as well as a vibrant collection of community allotments tended by our residents.

A choice of walks through the estate’s extensive woodland, including a wheelchair and pushchair accessible route, takes in views across the stunning site as well as a peaceful reflection area to relax and take stock in. Visitors can also join one of two free informal tours of the Middleton Hall grounds being led by the Estates team at 12 noon and 2:45pm.

The National Garden Scheme raises millions of pounds for nursing and health charities each year, as well as supporting charities doing amazing work in gardens and health. In 2023 they donated £3,403,960 to beneficiary charities from money raised at garden openings during the year. To find out more about what they do, please visit their website here.
