A special Grand Luncheon hosted by Middleton Hall Retirement Village has raised £570 for Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice in Middlesbrough.
The luncheon was held in the marquee at Middleton Hall for people living in the village’s independently owned retirement properties, bringing residents together for an afternoon of good food, entertainment and fundraising.
Guests were treated to an impressive selection of dishes, beginning with starters including ham hock terrine with pease pudding, fruit chutney and sourdough toast, before enjoying a grand buffet featuring a charcuterie selection, fruits de mer platter and a choice of hot dishes from the chef station.
Dessert provided another highlight, with guests able to choose from treats including Yorkshire curd tart with clotted cream, cherries in brandy and Brymor strawberry ice cream, or summer lemon and lime meringue pie with summer berries and Brymor golden honeycomb ice cream.
The delicious food was accompanied by live entertainment from singer Paul Skerritt, who soon had guests up out of their seats and dancing. His lively performance added to the celebratory atmosphere and helped make it a truly memorable afternoon.
A fundraising raffle was also held, with guests having the chance to win a selection of prizes, helping to boost the total raised for Zoe’s Place to an impressive £570 through ticket sales and raffle proceeds. The Middlesbrough-based charity provides specialist palliative and respite care for babies and support for their families.

The Grand Luncheon was a wonderful opportunity for residents to enjoy an afternoon together while also raising money for a charity providing vital support to local families.
