Recruitment Open Event announced

Find out more about careers at the award-winning Middleton Hall Retirement Village at a Recruitment Open Event on Thursday 20 October from 4pm to 8pm.

The event offers the ideal chance to visit Middleton Hall, meet department managers, discuss opportunities face-to-face and see the fabulous facilities at the retirement village in Middleton St George near Darlington.

Middleton Hall’s operational teams cover a wide range of areas including care, support work, housekeeping, catering, front of house, spa and activities, marketing, administration, transport, estates and maintenance.

The employee-owned business is currently expanding and there are some rarely available opportunities to become the next passionate, caring, committed and well-rewarded employee.

These include the recruitment of Support Workers for the village’s innovative Middleton Oaks service, which is aimed at supporting those living with the onset of dementia and which is currently being extended.

Comprising households developed for people who wish to lead as independent a life as possible but require a high level of practical nurturing support, Middleton Oaks is a well-regarded and much sought-after location.

Kirsty Wilson-Hartley, Middleton Oaks Deputy Manager, pictured above, who worked in community care before she joined the team, explained: “We predominantly support people with memory issues, from early stage through to late stage, no days are the same.”

“You’ve got to have a passion to want to deliver care to people but it’s about caring for people, making them smile, making them laugh.”

Nicola Angus, a Senior Support worker in Middleton Oaks, pictured below, added: “The best thing about my job is caring for people and the joy you get from seeing them happy when you put on parties and help them do things they enjoy.”

She added: “Middleton Hall is like a five-star luxury hotel for residents. It is the best!”

Middleton Hall Retirement Village is unusual in its sector as it is owned by its employees. People who work there are Co-owners of the business, which provides a greater opportunity to make a difference and be involved with the future direction of the company.

The business is based on a people-focused caring culture and career progression is always on offer for those who work there. It is proud to offer values-based recruitment, focusing on candidates’ qualities and not just qualifications.

The Recruitment Open Event at Middleton Hall Retirement Village is on Thursday 20 October, 4pm – 8pm. No appointment is needed – just turn up!
