Middleton Hall Retirement Village recently held a captivating art show featuring the creative talents of its residents. This unique event spotlighted artworks created by residents across all care services, who have been honing their skills in weekly traditional art classes led by Wellbeing Coordinator, Alexis.
The residents, inspired by Alexis’ original pieces and works from various artists, demonstrated their artistic growth and creativity. Each painting and drawing showcased at the event highlighted the residents’ mastery of various techniques learned during the classes.
The exhibition was a testament to the residents’ dedication and the enriching art class at Middleton Hall. The event not only celebrated their individual talents but also fostered a sense of community and accomplishment among the participants.
Alexis said: “One of the things I’ve brought to Middleton Hall has been the art classes. We have a beautiful art studio which, as soon as I saw it, I knew I wanted to put to good use. I’ve always been an artist at heart ever since I was a child. That creativity developed into wanting to study fine art later in life, which then led to a love for illustration. The desire to create and experiment with art has always been in me, and now hopefully, I can pass on some of the things I’ve learned over the years to my excellent resident art students”
