Our latest Armchair Travel Afternoon took residents on a colourful journey to Mexico, celebrating the country’s rich culture, art, and flavours, all from the comfort of their chair
The event was expertly organised by our Wellbeing Co-ordinators, who ensured every detail brought the spirit of Mexico to life. Ayme shared her own travel photos, giving residents a glimpse of bustling markets, historic landmarks, and sun-soaked beaches. The visuals sparked lively conversation, with residents reminiscing about their own adventures and sharing memories.
Alexis, who leads our resident art classes, captivated everyone with a video showcasing the magical world of Alebrijes, Mexico’s traditional, brightly coloured folk art creatures. Adding to the excitement, residents enjoyed a live performance of traditional Mexican puppets, which brought stories and culture to life in a fun and interactive way.
The afternoon concluded on a delicious note with a homemade tres leches cake, specially prepared by our kitchen team. Residents delighted in the sweet treat while reflecting on an afternoon filled with laughter, creativity, and cultural discovery.
Events like these highlight the importance of keeping our care residents engaged, inspired, and connected, offering them the chance to explore the world without ever leaving their chair!
