Honouring Service and Sacrifice on Remembrance Day at Middleton Hall

This year, the Estates Team came together to create a special Remembrance Day display in the reception area – a heartfelt tribute to those who have served and sacrificed from 1914 through to the present day.

The team felt it was important that the display reflected the contributions of all three services — land, sea, and air – and the immense sacrifices made by so many in every conflict since the First World War. With many of our residents having personal or family connections to times of war, the display holds deep meaning within our community.

At the heart of the display are beautiful hand-knitted poppies, representing those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Among them are purple poppies, included to honour the animals who served alongside humans and played such vital roles in wartime efforts.

To complete the display, the team incorporated greenery gathered from Middleton Hall’s own grounds, bringing a touch of home and belonging to the tribute – a symbol of gratitude from our community to all who gave so much for others
