Our Care Director goes the extra mile (…and then some!) to raise awareness of MND

Colin set himself a challenge this January: run double the MND Awareness target of 31 miles and raise £150 for people affected by motor neurone disease.

Despite admitting he was “probably as unfit as I’ve ever been” (and with a protesting knee!), Colin kept going – building his miles week by week and even clocking up some of them alongside his daughter, Megan.

By mid-January, he’d already smashed the original challenge, completing the 31 miles with 18 days to spare, then hitting 62 miles with six days left 🙌

But he didn’t stop there…

On the final day of the challenge, Colin added a “short” 1.5-mile run (after 6 miles of golf!) to bring his final total to an incredible 80 miles 🏆

Colin says the generosity and encouragement around the challenge has kept him going and will help support vital services for people affected by MND, including information packs, communication aids and specialist nutrition kits. That same generosity has seen him smash his original £150 target, raising well over £850.
