There was plenty of fun, laughter and friendly competition as Middleton Hall residents took part in this year’s Darlington Care Home Olympics at Firthmoor Community Centre.
The annual event brought together residents from eight local care homes for a series of Olympic-themed challenges, specially adapted to make sure everyone could get involved. Organised by Grosvenor Park Care Home, the day was all about staying active, having fun and enjoying some friendly rivalry with fellow care home residents.
Representing Middleton Hall, our residents proudly formed the White Team, taking part in a variety of challenges including bean bag toss, skittles and rocket throw.

There was plenty of cheering and encouragement throughout the day, with our Health & Wellbeing Centre team getting involved too in events including the wheelchair race and three-legged race.

After a fantastic day of competition, our team were delighted to bring home a bronze medal! 🥉 It was a brilliant achievement and a wonderful reward for everyone’s enthusiasm and team spirit.
Of course, no Middleton Hall celebration would be complete without a treat! After the Olympics, our residents rewarded themselves with some well-deserved ice creams🍦
