Friends, fun and fruit picking for Independent residents!

Summer may be coming to a close end, but not before harvesting some of the estates fruits. Going out fruit picking is a great way to get outdoors and be more connected with nature…with the added benefit of being able to enjoy the end product! We are fortunate here at Middleton Hall to be set in 45-acre grounds which everyone can enjoy, including our popular community allotments.

How about them apples? Our Bramley apple trees weren’t short of fruit this year. Grown only in the UK, Bramley apples are highly recognised by professional chefs and home cooks as the best apple for cooking, including apple pie, apple crumble, apple sauce and more!

Did you know, Plum trees are grown on every continent except Antarctica (but we think Middleton Hall Victoria Plums are the best!)

The turnout was great for a sunny afternoon of fruit picking, where everyone was on standby to give a helping hand.

The fruit derived from labour is the sweetest of pleasures and that was certainly the case after the fruit picking session, when residents, co-owners and visitors to the Orangery could enjoy the produce.
