Rise and shine, it’s pancake time!🥞

This year’s pancake day celebrations included pancake races, pancake flipping competitions, a pancake quiz and plenty of freshly made pancakes with a range of delicious toppings to choose from!

Organised by the Healthy Living Team, residents across Middleton Hall took part in pancake races. The history of pancake racing dates back to 1445 when a woman in Buckinghamshire heard the bell of her local church whilst making pancakes and ran to the church, still in her apron and clutching at her pan of pancakes! The Olney pancake race is still a tradition to this day and it certainly brought out the competitive side of residents here!

Everyone was also able to enjoy a pancake menu featuring a variety of special pancakes, including caramelised banana, eggs benedict, smoked salmon and cream cheese and many more! They prove so popular year on year that the offer was extended into Wednesday so people could return for second helpings.
