Bon appetit as Orangery’s Bistro’s French a la carte night is a sell-out success

Residents and guests from across Middleton Hall Retirement Village were treated to a taste of France when the Orangery Bistro hosted its sold-out a la carte Bistro Evening.

Diners chose from a menu of delicious French cooking, beginning with starters like French onion soup, pressed duck terrine, and a vibrant petit niçoise salad featuring gem lettuce, green beans, tuna, and a zesty lemon and Dijon vinaigrette.

The main courses included the classic favourites steak frites served with café de Paris butter and peppercorn sauce, coq au vin slow-cooked in red wine, and lemon sole véronique in a delicate white wine and cream sauce.

For dessert, the options were crème caramel, tarte Tatin with praline and pecan ice cream, and flambéed crêpes suzette, followed by coffee and macarons to finish.

Here are some photos of the mouth-watering dishes served up and, pictured above and below, guests who enjoyed them!
