What do Hospitality Managers do on their day off?

Our Co-Owners have busy lives and that doesn’t stop outside of work! Our Hospitality manager Clare recently volunteered to provide hospitality for 300 runners at the Great North Run on Tyneside. Clare told us all about her experience on the day, carry on reading to find out what she got up to.

“On Sunday 11th September, I volunteered for the Great North Air Ambulance, in their Hospitality Tent at the end of the Great North Run at South Shields. I have previously volunteered three times at the Great North Run, and I was really pleased to be back with them this year. On the day I helped to set up the tent, I then cheered the first runners from the finish line, and took them to the tent, and then spent most of the afternoon serving refreshments to the runners and their families.”

“The Great North Air Ambulance had around 300 runners, so it was a very busy afternoon. The GNR raises much needed funds for GNAAS. It costs over £5000 each mission, just to send the Air Ambulance out, so every penny counts!

“I also volunteer at the Sunderland Airshow for the Great North Air Ambulance, meeting the public, and selling merchandise, and I look forward to doing that again in 2023.”

Her help was greatly received and she was praised for her time and effort by organisers.
